No testamento, ele estipulou que a sua fortuna &#8220;deveria formar um fundo cujos juros anuais seriam atribu\u00eddos como pr\u00e9mios (Pr\u00e9mios Nobel, desde 1901) \u00e0queles que, no ano anterior, tivessem prestado o maior benef\u00edcio \u00e0 humanidade&#8221;, distribu\u00eddos igualmente entre laureados em cinco \u00e1reas: F\u00edsica, Qu\u00edmica, Fisiologia ou Medicina, Literatura e Paz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naquela \u00e9poca, dificilmente se poderia imaginar o qu\u00e3o profundamente a descoberta de Doppler influenciaria o desenvolvimento dessas mesmas \u00e1reas: at\u00e9 os dias de hoje, foram concedidos Pr\u00e9mios Nobel a 24 cientistas cujas descobertas nas \u00e1reas de medicina, tecnologia e ci\u00eancias naturais s\u00f3 foram poss\u00edveis
